Recognized as a champagne specialist, Master of Wine Essi Avellan is the author of several wine books, including the Christie’s World Encyclopedia of Champagne and Sparkling Wine (co-authored with Tom Stevenson). Essi is a jury member at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships and Chair of the Champagne and Sparkling Wine panel at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. She has has been knighted as Chevalier l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole by the Minister of Agriculture of France.
