Summer is still on, and there are not many better things to enhance a summer day, but a bottle of well chilled, refreshing, subtle sparkling wine. At the 5th edition of Winelover Wine Awards, altogether 49 traditional method (bottle-fermented, aka "champagne method" sparkling wines gained some sort of medals. Let us recommend 7 of them!

"Its very light yellow robe sparkles with delicate bubbles gathering into a persistent string of pearls of great purity. Nose Fine and intense nose with notes of citrus and white fruits. Mouth The attack is forthright, frank and full. The aromas of citrus fruits are in perfect harmony with the minerality of the wine and they go on in a splendid lingering finish."

Kreinbacher Brut Classic NV, Somló, gold medal, 91 points
"Citrus fruits, white flowers and almond– enticing aromas line up in the nose. Chardonnay ensures a fresh and elegant style, the pleasant bitterness of Furmint appears in the background. Grapefruit, lime and stone fruits arrive first on the palate, followed by quince and autolytic notes – toast and roasted almond. Vivid and soft, with distinctive saltiness at the end. The dosage ensures an ideal balance. Fine choice for each and every occasion."

"This classic assemblage is all about elegance, finesse, and brightness, a subtle combination of complexity, length and freshness. Elegant with nice complexity and soft mousse. Ripe appley nose with straw notes, nice toastiness. Full body towards being winey. Its texture is seductive, round and well-balanced, with velvety bubbles and a long, straightforward aftertaste."

"2020 was, again, a year ideal for producing a great base wine from Furmint from the Dobozi sub-vineyard of Öreg Király, which then underwent the usual traditional method secondary fermentation. Disgorged in January 2026."
