Founder of An Italian Guy in Hungary
Marco Barbieri began his career in hospitality under Gualtiero Marchesi at Il Marchesino in Milan, later becoming a sommelier at The Arts Club in London and earning WSET Level 3 certification. In 2016, he moved to Hungary, where he discovered a deep passion for the country’s wines and wine culture. Through his platform An Italian Guy in Hungary and his educational series The Grape Detective, he creates content focused on winery visits, tastings, and rare Hungarian grape varieties. Marco also contributes to Glass of Bubbly, writing about Hungarian sparkling wines from his current home in Budapest.
