The Winelovers Wine Awards is well on its way to becoming the most important wine competition in the Central and Eastern European region and, with this, an important international event in the wine world.
The judging, which will take place in Budapest between 28-30 June 2024, goes beyond traditional competitions, as it is not only a competition that meets international standards, but with its many ancillary events, it is a real help in promoting the quality products of wine producers in Hungary and internationally.

The Winelovers Wine Awards is a great opportunity for wineries wishing to break out of the region to convert the marketing value of medals into commercial results. Winelovers also helps wineries in export marketing, as the competition is accompanied by extensive communication in Hungary and powerful international publicity. In addition to the English-language website and the competition’s social media pages, the winning wines will also be featured on the international Wine-Searcher website, in press releases to the international press and in an English-language digital publication for the most important players in the Western European wine market.

Besides the judging, more and more ancillary events each year aim to help wineries find their feet in the development of commercial relationships.
Winelovers-X has already taken place in previous years, and from the very beginning, its priority has been to create an effective offline platform for professionals and to connect winemakers with wine merchants looking for new products, thus creating opportunities for fruitful relationships.
In addition to the professional gathering, from this year, there will also be a number of small, private events. These include the Tasting break sponsorship, which gives one winery an exclusive wine presentation opportunity during the judging breaks on competition days, and Taste with an expert, where a world-renowned wine expert will review 3 wines from each participating winery.
László Bálint, President of the Winelovers Wine Awards
High-quality masterclasses will also be organised within the scope of the competition. These are held by renowned authorities and expert Masters of Wine, so they are always very popular. Winelovers brings to Hungary the kind of big names that you would otherwise only meet after much organisation on a trip abroad. You will have the opportunity to meet the experts, not only at the masterclasses but also at an exclusive Gala Dinner.

Entries for the Winelovers Wine Awards 2024 are now open, and producers can enter the competition again this year in eight categories on the competition website.
And why is it worth entering? As gastronomy and wine consultant Meriç Akbay pointed out, because there is simply “no cheaper and more effective way to stand out from the crowd.”
