Winelovers Wine Awards is a rigorous wine competition with trade side events, however, Winelovers team has relaxed, fancy consumer events as well. The annual, summer River Night is one of the most popular events. 4 hours unlimited tasting of around 150 wines, 2 hours cruising on the Danube with the breath-taking panorama of Budapest, what's more, 8 of the 31 exhibitors have recently won gold medals at Winelovers Wine Awards, and guests can taste most of the gold winner wines!

1. Csernus Winery, Ipolynyék, Slovakia

Csernus Winery has won one of the 6 grand gold medals of the whole competition: their 2025 Rhine Riesling received 95 points, and that is grand gold, and some lucky participants can taste this magnificent wine.
Csernus won another gold for Peszeki Leányka 2025 (90 points), this wine will not be poured at the event, but some others will, for example the Battonage Chardonnay Selection 2023, which received gold medal last year.

2. Dűne Wine Estate, Kunság, Hungary

Dűne winery seems to be the master of Rhine Riesling: they entered two vintages of the same wine, and both got gold! Dűne Imrehegyi Rhine Riesling 2022 received 91, while vintage 2023 deserved 90 points. River Night guests can taste both!
As Zoltán Béla of Dűne Wine Estate commented, earlier vintages of this wine proved to be successful as well. Vintage 2013 received gold in Vienna in 2015, while vintage 2019 got grand gold in Bordeaux in 2022. Imrehegy must be a magical vineyard for Rhine Riesling!

3. Etyeki Kúria, Etyek–Buda, Hungary

The state-of-the-art winery is dedicated ti craft the finest Pinot Noir wines, they have a whole library of different vintages of Pinot, and once a year they organise a vertical Pinot Noir tasting with a guest winery. At the 5th Winelovers Wine Awards two vintages got gold medal: Etyeki Kúria Pinot Noir Selection 2022 (91 points) and Etyeki Kúria Pinot Noir 2024 (90 points). 
The winery has recently debuted with their traditional method sparkling wines, and Etyeki Kúria Brut has received a third gold medal for the estate! River Night participants can taste all, plus some more, for example Rose Brut traditional method sparkling wine, which has been selected the best non-Austrian sparkling by Falstaff magazine recently.

4. Fehérvári Wine Estate, Somló, Hungary

Fehérvári is a relatively young winery on the volcanic Somló mountain, but it arrived in the Hungarian wine scene like a comet, a sparkling comet. Their esquisit traditional method sparkling wines have collected countless acknowledgements in the past years, and now there are two more gold medals: Fehérvári Reserve Brut NW and Fehérvári Reserve Brut Rose Magnum both received 90 points and River Night guests can taste both of the sparkling wines!

5. Jásdi Cellar, Balatonüred–Csopak, Hungary

The family winery founded by István Jásdi proves again and again that the most planted white grape of Lake Balaton, Olaszrizling has the potentialto give elegant, layered, complex wines. Siralomvágó Olaszrizling 2023 is a single vineyard wine and it deserved 90 points at the Winelovers Wine Awards.
Jásdi Cellar has always been eager to prove that Balaton is not only a white wine region, but fabulous red wines can be made as well. Ranolder Vörös (Red) 2023 is a red wine made of Cabernet Franc, and it received gold medal (90 points) at the contest. Guests can taste both wines, if they arrive early enough...

6. Pelle Cellar, Tokaj, Hungary

László Pelle's winery has collected not less, but four gold medals! Pelle Tokaji Aszú 2021 and Pelle Tokaji Szamorodni 2024 both received 92 points. Pelle Betsek 2021 got 91, while Pelle Makovicza 2023 deserved 90 points. Both of them are single vineyard wines, Betsek is a dry blend of Furmint and Hárslevelű, while Makovicza is dry varietal Hárslevelű.  
Tokaj noble sweet wines are undoubtedly magnificent, but in a summer evening we rather have thirst for dry wines, therefore László Pelle will pour the two dry gold winners, plus a light and easy-going bubbly, Pelle Frizzi 2025, an aerated sparkling wine made of Hárslevelű.
He will have a few bottles of the gold winner Tokaji Szamorodni as well, just in case...

7. Veszprém Archbishop Winery, Balaton Uplands, Hungary

The winery is quite new, yet winelovers has learned the name quickly thanks to the numerous accolades they have gathered in the past years. Mandorla Rhine Riesling is one of the flagship wines of the estate, now the 2024 vintage got gold medal (90 points) at Winelovers Wine Awards. The very same wine received gold at the British Decanter World Wine Awards as well. 
River Night guests can taste Mandorla Rhine Riesling 2024, but again, we strongly recommend to start at this exhibitor, if you want to make sure not to miss. If you are too late, you can still taste 1277 Sauvignon Blanc 2024, it was awarded silver at WWA, and grand gold at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (Sauvignon Blanc Selection).

8. Pátzay Wine Estate, Badacsony, Hungary

Tégladomb 2025 received gold medal (90 points), and we are very happy about it: Tégladomb (literally meaning 'Brick Hill') is a single vineyard Pinot Gris. This grape was once the star of Badacsony, today less outstanding Pinot Gris wines are made, but Tégladomb 2025 is a great one for sure.
The winery will bring some of this wine along with their highly popular Pinot Noir Rosé.
Pátzay Wine Estate is owned by a wine merchant, the owner of Veritas wine store – it seems that after selling others' wines, István Pátzay decided to try himself in winemaking, with success, as we can see.
