Szentpéteri Kadarka Rosé Brut 2023, Kunság (gold medal, 91 points)
Grape: Kadarka
Kunság is the largest wine region of Hungary with many famous wine families. Kadarka is an indigenous grape from the Carpathian Basin, we make spicy, light bodied red wine and crispy-spicy rosé still wines of the variety, therefore this method traditional sparkling wine is a rarity even for us, Hungarians. Szentpéteri is a family winery now led by Attila Szentpéteri, the founder's grandson, and he has been nominated for the Winemaker of the Year award several times. Kadarka Rosé Brut 2023 was aged in the bottle for 16 months and it has a dosage of 5.5 g/L.
"A refreshing, crispy, lighter style, yet complex sparkling wine with notes of redcurrant, strawberry and brioche."

Fehérvári Grand Reserve Brut Nature 2022, Somló (gold medal, 90 points)
Grape: Furmint
Fehérvári Wine Estate is another family winery, from the smallest wine region of Hungary, the volcanic Somló. What happens when our flagship grape variety, Furmint grows on volcanic terroir and ages with the lees for 18 months.
"In its fresh aroma, the toasted bread crust characteristic of traditional sparkling wines appears, which is complemented by Furmint’s citrusy, summer apple notes. Its airy lightness is enriched by bright acids, and the minerality of Somló can be seen in its long aftertaste. A sip is at once refreshing and silky, like the caress of the morning breeze on the way home at the end of a fun night."

Czurda Riesling Brut Millésimé 2022, Pannonhalma (gold medal, 90 points)
Grape: Rhine Riesling
Pannonhalma is an exciting wine region of Hungary. Its relatively cool climate is ideal for Rhine Riesling and the international variety gives examples of high quality. Henrik Czurda, a Hungarian born economist living in Switzerland has soon realized the potential of the grape, now – after becoming a certified winemaker – he makes his sought-after wines from 1 hectare, with the help of Cseri Winery nearby. The sparkling wine was aged for 18 months, the dosage is 8 g/L.
"Pale golden yellow and complex with a rich aroma. The typical Riesling aromas are clearly characteristic for this sparkling wine. Very aromatic with a creamy texture. It has a seductive, tiny, and elegantly sparkling perlage with a long-lasting, lively acidity, as we have come to expect from CZURDA Rieslings. Simply a high-quality vintage sparkling wine."
