Three of the Best of wines of the 4th Winelovers Wine Awards

Bock Capella 2012, Villány
Capella is the sixth-brightest star in the night sky and it is the brightest star in the northern constellation of Auriga.
Bock Capella is the great selection of Bock Winery, made only in exceptional years. Made from selections from Ördögárok Cabernet Franc (60%) and Merlot (10%) and Jammertál Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) matured for 24 months in new oak barrels. A full-bodied, concentrated wine with an incredible wealth of aroma and depth of flavour. It is characterized by a deeply intense colour verging on black in which tobacco and milk chocolate appear alongside overripe fruit. Alongside the dried fruits, chocolate is a dominant element of its flavour.

Holdvölgy Expression 2021, Tokaj
This single vineyard Hárslevelű is the 11th release from the parcels of first-growth Becsek, where the average age of the vines is 45 years. On the nose, green apple dominates, complemented by notes of yellow watermelon and chestnut. The palate reveals a rich character of plum and gooseberry, again accompanied by chestnut. A vivid and multi-layered terroir wine. “Beauty without expression is boring” – quotes the winery from Ralph Waldo Emerson, and they also explain why: “This wine represents a remarkable fusion of the historic 1st Growth Becsek and the Hárslevelű grape variety. It beautifully showcases the terroir, capturing the elegance and charm of this specific vineyard, which is enhanced even further by the subtlety of the Seguin Moreau oak barrels."

Pécsinger Rézi Rozé 2024, Pannonhalma
Pécsinger Winery was founded in 2000, they cultivate grapes on 65 hectares. "We believe in the vineyard. Our ancestors also believed in it. My father, my grandfather and his father. Maybe this belief helped make our dreams come true, even though we often started from a tough position."
The rosé is made of 100% Merlot from the cooler climate, small Pannonhalma wine region. It fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks. Inense, darker pink colour. Charming, intense nose abundant in strawberries and other red fruits. Juicy, refreshing wine with creamy texture and vibrant, fruity aftertaste. Taste it well chilled.
