Winelovers 100: Taste WWA winner wines at one place

The first 30 exhibitors are revealed, soon the next dozens will be announced as well. The grandiose tasting will feature the 100 best wines of the Winelovers Wine Awards in the glamourous five-star Corinthia. Test yourself, do you agree with the international judges of the Winelovers Wine Award contest? At this event, you can taste and check the points, since all participants receive a free copy of the Winelovers 100 magazine.

"So that you and your friends don't have to buy all the wine in the supermarket, we're giving you a compass. Winelovers 100 – the 100 best Hungarian wines magazine, which we'll be presenting in September, will be back in 2026. As usual, we're not just presenting a magazine, but also giving you the opportunity to taste the 100 best Hungarian wines with your friends, all in one place, at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest."

5 exhibitors to begin with
Certainly, we recommend all our exhibitors, but in this short article let us mention five of them, for some special reason for each.
 
Bock – the most successful winery of the 5th Winelovers Wine Award
Bock Winery in Villány won the title of the Most Successful Winery, since they have gathered not less, but 10 medals! 5 gold, and 5 silver. We are not surprised by the high scores of Bock Cuvée 2021 and Bock Essencia 2021, but this time the iconic estate collected two silver medals for white wines well, for Bock Batonnage 2024 and Bock Sauvignon Blanc 2025.
A must-visit booth for sure!

Matyisák – the best of the best
This Tokaj winery (and cooperage) collected three gold medals, and 2 of them are grand gold medals, what's more, one of them received the highest score of the whole competition. Matyisák Tokaji Eszencia 2004 with 97 points is the best wine of the 5th edition of our international wine competition. Every drop is gold, and certainly this wine is for special occasions.

Koch – 10 medals from 2 wine regions
Koch Winery is located in Hajós–Baja wine region, however, they have a vineyard in Villány wine region giving stunning red wines. At the 5th WWA Koch Winery collected 10 medals: 2 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. The two gold winners are Koch Merlot 899, vintage 2019 and Koch Premium Csanád Cuvée 2017 – both of them are made in their Villány estate. The number 899 in the name of the Merlot refers to the limited number of the product: this barrel selection was enough for only 899 bottles.

Fehérvári – gold winner sparkling wines
Fehérvári is a relatively young winery on the volcanic Somló mountain, but it arrived in the Hungarian wine scene like a comet, a sparkling comet. Their stunning traditional method sparkling wines have collected countless acknowledgements in the past years, and now there are two more gold medals: Fehérvári Reserve Brut NW and Fehérvári Reserve Brut Rose Magnum both received 90 points and River Night guests can taste both of the sparkling wines!

Illés – 6 medals for volcanic wines
Illés Winery is a small family estate to watch, they started to release wines only a few years ago, and keen wine enthusiasts discovered them soon. They are based in the volcanic Badacsony wine region, within Balaton broader region. At the 5th WWA they won a gold, three silver medals and two bronze medals. The gold winner is Illés Holdkő Olaszrizling 2024 – Holdkő means "Moon Stone", and Olaszrizling is the most typical white variety of Lake Balaton.
